![]() ![]() You can weld with it or anything you don’t have in that infinitely variable adjustment. That’s not going to make a huge difference in terms of maximum thickness. It does get a little bit more penetration than you would with a gas shielded Nigg. This kind of thing can do it like a lot of flux core welders. But in a pinch depending on the project or depending on the joint configuration. A tiny little 90-amp flux core welder 120 volt is not really ideal for 3/16 material. It does pretty decent even on 3/16 thick material. This one is the best part of this century fc 90 welder review. Easy to throw in the trunk of a car or something like that. It almost works like a handle.Īnd then you don’t need a strap or anything like that so it’s a very small, lightweight machine, very portable and easy to move around the shop. There’s a little bit of an overhang to the plastic. To give you a slightly better idea of the size of the machine, like you can pick it up just without any handle. Much smaller and lighter than some of the similar welders. It is very small and lightweight it is only 10 or 15pounds. The Size of Century FC 90 Flux Core Welder So if you were running it at 90 amps you can figure it’s going to be less than that. But it does show here at 30% duty cycle at 80amps at 180 volts. Which does show the duty cycle at various outputs and this machine is rated at a 90-amp max output. The out power switch and cooling fan and also you have the data tag of the machine. This welder has a not too exciting power cord. But if you want to use the larger 10-pound spools they will not fit in this machine. This welder runs with a standard four-inch spool that you can get at hardware stores. You have to pick up some wire to use the machine. One nice thing about this cord is that it’s six feet long which isn’t super long but it is a little bit longer than what comes on some of the very cheap century welders. The power cord is a 14 gauge but for the output of this welder and the amount of current draw that it has, the 14 gauge should be okay. So that you can get the full rated output out of 120 volts. It has DC output so the inverter technology is fairly efficient. It is a cheap welder and it has some definite advantages over similarly priced welders. ![]()
